Pre-Game Notes: The options for the day were to sit at home and relax and do absolutely nothing, or come to the park and see Chase Wright pitch. It’s 11 AM, and I’m staring at an empty baseball field. Who needs sleep?
A-Jack is back at the ballpark, but is not in today’s lineup. Also, his locker is no longer under the stereo, which means I’ll actually be able to hear what he’s saying to me after games. A nice bonus.
Peter Abraham reports that Ian Kennedy’s been sent down to Scranton.

In-Game Updates (LIVE from the ballpark): 1-0, Portland in the top of the 3rd on the ever thrilling sac fly.
2-0 Portland heading into bottom 5. Wright has thrown a lot of pitches, and this start seems eerily similar to the one JJ had last night. But JJ was able to escape with only one run and Wright hasn’t been so lucky.
Chris Malec deposited a 3-2 Dustin Richardson offering just over the left field fence to cut Portland’s lead to one. Didn’t look like he got that ball at all, but it just kept carrying.
Sac fly by Kevin Russo in the 7th off of Beau Vaughan ties it at two. Wright left after six, and Bo Hall came in, so that gets SCW off the hook.
P.J. Pilittere sends us home with a single through the left side of the infield. 3-2, Thunder come from behind to win.

Post-Game Notes:
Thunder Thoughts: It took me a month to figure out what the annoying and persistent thumping we can feel in the press box, but I finally did it…it’s the people jumping around on the Dance Dance Revolution machine on the concourse. Maybe they can install something with a little less impact, like Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge…

With Kennedy being sent down, do you imagine Marquez will be seeing time back in Trenton? His numbers in Scranton are not looking to good.

Not yet. They would probably just move Giese or Phillips back to the bullpen and sent down either Jackson or Robertson…
I’m sure Chad Jennings will post something in about 5 minutes that makes me look like an idiot, but that’s my guess…

thanks Mike, keep us posted!

Also, the Yankees will need a fifth starter since they now only have four too…maybe they send Rasner back down and call IPK back up? I dunno, I should just wait until they actually do something instead of guessing.

awesome pictures, great job!

Thanks. Taking pictures is easily my favorite part of making the trek out here for day games. As relievers come in, I’ll try to add a few more throughout the game.

Mike, Any idea of when the Thunder will being seeing some MILB.TV action?
May 4, 2008 at 6:00 pm |
As far as I know, only Triple-A teams are a part of that. There’s been talk that MILB might add the Gameday feature for Double-A in 2009, so maybe that will change as well…but I haven’t heard anything as of yet.
