If he has the MRI as late as Tuesday, and the results come back early Wednesday, he could stay down there for ABs on Wed. and Thurs., then fly to NY in time for the Friday opener against the Mets.

Wonder if that will happen.

But I guess he is not coming to Trenton.

David Fenster, who covers the Thunder for WIMG, was at the Stadium last night and he seemed to indicate that would be the plan.

However, with the Yankees now saying that A-Rod will be getting another MRI before being cleared for rehab games, so perhaps that pushes the schedule back a little bit.

I bet A-Rod plays in the Extended Spring Training games instead of the Tampa Yankees games. That way, since they are informal, he can bat 3rd every inning, and get 7 ABs each day. And the quality of Pitcher will be similar to an "A" League hurler anyway.
