Is It All Going According To Plan?
I posed this question to Thunder manager Tony Franklin during the team’s series against Portland, and here’s what he had to say…
“I try not to come in with a plan, so to speak. I just try to come in, look at a ballclub, then say we’ve got a chance to do certain things. We’ve got a chance to hit, which we did during spring training. We’ve got a chance to pitch well, which I think we did a pretty good job of during the spring. And I said I thought we’d be a good defensive club. We’ve been OK, and I think that’s one of the areas we need to get better at. I don’t like to come in with a plan, because anything’s bound to happen. I’m not that smart to say our plan is this, this and this. Baseball takes on a plan of its own and you try to make adjustments within that plan or within your thought process as far as what you think that club needs.”
