Final Score: 10-6, Sea Dogs

Post-Game Notes: Same criticism with Wordekemper as there was with Schmidt. You can’t expect him to pitch any better than he did considering the layoff between outings.

Thunder Thoughts: Five errors and 11 walks?  Yikes.

I know you probably have no idea, but have you a clue if Mark Melancon will pitch tomorrow for Trenton? I was thinking of coming down tomorrow to see Masterson pitch but I really want to see Melancon more. I believe he pitches every three or so days - which might put him in line to pitch tomorrow - so it would be disappointing if he didnt pitch

    thanks

We used all of our bullpen between yesterday and today so hopefully he gets here and they can use him if needed. Cody was even saying in the dugout that he would pitch. haha

And it was fun to see the usually VERY reserved Scott Aldred get fired up and get himself kicked out today for arguing with the home plate umpire over balls and strikes.

Nardi was at Waterfront today. Anything to that regarding future movement of pitchers? With Whelan on the Tampa roster replacing Melancon and rumors of Karstens almost ready to begin game rehab. Chance we see either or both soon?

I would say its very likely Melancon pitches tomorrow…although, as you said, I couldn’t tell you for sure. Considering he hasn’t pitched since he’s been here, I’d imagine it would be his turn tomorrow.

I think you’ll see Karstens before you see Whelan. Whelan will probably spend a few weeks in Tampa before he gets the call…and Karstens can be added as an ML rehab, so adding him wouldn’t have any affect on the roster.

Today’s NY Post is reporting that Eric Hacker and A, Aceves have been promoted from Tampa to Trenton, and Cutch is moving up.
