So, I Hear Yankee Stadium Is Closing…

I’m going to give the Brian Cashman stuff a day off so you can all enjoy and discuss last night’s final game at Yankee Stadium.  Perhaps sometime soon I’ll go into my memories of covering games there…but in the meantime, check out Pete Abraham’s coverage of the proceedings.

It was pretty neat last night being able to see some Thunder alumni take part in helping the Yankees win the last game. Brett Gardner scored the final run in the stadium’s history. Phil Coke pitched out of a jam in his 2/3 of an inning pitched. And I thought it was great seeing Tony Franklin out there congratulating the players after the ballgame was over. I can only imagine what it must have been for someone like Tony to get to take in all of the festivities last night. Tony’s a true baseball lifer and it’s definitely moment he deserved to witness first hand.
