Montero Leaves Game With Injury

Thunder catcher Jesus Montero has left tonight’s game with an injury.

According to someone at the ballpark, Montero was behind the plate in the bottom of the third inning when he got hit by a pitch thrown by Lance Pendleton on what looked like his left hand.  Montero left the game immediately after the play.

If there are any future updates, I will be sure to post them.

I was at the Altoona-Trenton game Saturday night. Our seats were close enough to Montero for us to notice what happened.
I am not 100% certain, but it seemed as if Montero may have been crossed up on a pitch call, the ball skimmed off his glove hand, hit him in the face mask, the mask was knocked off of him and he fell to the ground. You could tell immediately that something was wrong. Montero was sittting on the ground behind the plate as trainers came out to check on his status. Montero was wincing in pain favoring his left hand/arm.
As the backup catcher was getting ready, Montero was in obvious pain sitting on the bench while trainers seemed to be checking on his left hand. After a few minutes, Montero and the trainers exited through the tunnell.
