Times of Trenton beat writer John Nalbone has got the story of Christian Garcia’s Tommy John surgery, which took place on Tuesday in New York.
While it was widely assumed that Garcia would be forced to undergo another TJ surgery, it had not been confirmed until now. Garcia lasted just 69 pitches this season, leaving the Thunder’s Opening Day game after experiencing a pinching sensation in his elbow following a 1-1 changeup.

I would assume that a 2nd TJ for garcia at his age with his extensive injury history and lack of pitching experience about ends his career. Maybe he can be a RP when/IF he gets back, but his starting is done. Be still your heart Mike, But Garcia may be gone!!!!

There are quite a few guys that have had a 2nd TJ surgery and come back to pitch (the Phillies Scott Mathieson and the Astros Tim Byrdak to name a few). He may not start, but with his stuff, he should be back as a top flight reliever.
