He’s back.
Tony Franklin, the beloved fifth-year manager of the Trenton Thunder, will return for tonight’s game against the Portland Sea Dogs at Waterfront Park.
Franklin has been out of action since suffering chest pains prior to a recent game — the team was managed by Justin Pope in his absence — but team officials confirmed that he will be back tonight.

Betances last night didn’t get as many swinging strikes as he usually does. That’s cos when he missed outside he missed by too much. A decidedly mortal start by him where he had guys on but still only three balls really squared up well the whole outing, one that went to the left field wall & caught (CB that didn’t break it looked like). One real shot into the gap for a hit & another got up in the air but Mesa made a nice running grab on it. Even with less location he still changed speeds really well to make bats look feeble.
Any idea how many pitches he threw? I lost count when I got into a discussion in the 3rd. Thanks in advance. Joseph is such a good hitter. Went opposite with ease & later pulled the ball down the line for that triple. He’s a pleasure to watch.
