The following is video I shot of Gerrit Cole’s entire outing in Reading on July 25, 2012. It was kind of a mixed bag. His fastball sat around 95 miles per hour, and touched 97 and 98 on a few occasions. Never saw him hit 99 and definitely never saw 100 on the gun. He mixed his pitches a little better the second time through the order, got to see his slider more…and it’s pretty good. Watch the way he attacks Hernandez with it the second time he faced him with the first two pitches. Really nice movement on it.
Cole is scheduled to pitch in Trenton on July 31, but I thought it would be good to look at him early…
