Game 43: New Hampshire @ Trenton

UPDATE: Game suspended due to rain — will likely be completed when New Hampshire returns at the end of the month, but no date has been announced.

Pre-Game Notes: I’d be very, very surprised if you see anything other than Dan McCutchen going seven innings, and Mark Melancon finishing out the game.

I got my Travis Snider Around the EL Piece done, and also sat down with Mark Melancon for about ten minutes for something I think you’ll see Thursday.

Also briefly spoke to Eladio Rodriguez, who said he hadn’t heard anything about when he was going to play, but that he’s ready…

In-Game Updates (LIVE from the ballpark): The game is underway, but the rain is already here…if this gets to the fifth, I’ll be surprised.

Raining pretty hard here in the bottom of the 2nd, but they’re still playing.  1-0, New Hampshire.

Eladio Rodriguez has pinch hit for Joe Muich in the 3rd.  No idea what’s up…didn’t see an apparent injury to Muich.

In a stunner, the game has entered a rain delay around 2:05.  1-0 Fisher Cats in the top of the 4th.

Post-Game Notes: The Thunder have Monday off, and then head to Reading for a three-game series. That’s followed by another three games on the road in Altoona before the club returns to Trenton on the 27th to face New Hampshire again.

The MAAC Tournament will be held in Trenton from the 22nd through the 24th, however…so if you’re looking for some baseball at Waterfront Park while the team is away, you can find it then.

Thunder Thoughts: Maybe the Thunder fans will get lucky and Brett Cecil will pitch during the next series — because the three starters that the Fisher Cats sent to Trenton for this series weren’t anything to write home about. Even Ricky Romero is struggling yet again, but he already pitched in front of the Waterfront Park faithful a season ago.

However, unless something changes in the Fisher Cats schedule, it’ll be the same three guys.

Great pics as always, Mike. Really like the one of the 4 outfield guys signing for the fans. That’s how it should be.

Thanks. I liked that particular shot too…just wish I could have gotten it a little tighter so it would have been bigger.
