Zambrano Starting Tonight

Sounds like Victor Zambrano will be starting for the Trenton Thunder tonight.

The possibility of the 33-year-old starting for the Thunder was first reported here, but it was initially believed that he would be appearing on Sunday and not today.

Zambrano, pictured pitching for the Mets in Philly in 2005, has made two appearances for the Gulf Coast League Yankees following his release from the Rockies organization in early June.

The righty, who initially came up with in the Yankees organization as a light-hitting middle infielder in 1994, is 45-44 with a 4.64 ERA in 187 big league appearances.

He’s pitched for the Rays, Mets and Orioles over the course of seven Major League seasons.

When does Pavano’s rehab assignment officially end(i.e. when do they have to bring him up by)

If he does well tonight, do you think we can spin him off for Scott Kazmir?

Pitchers have a month on their rehab assignments, and I believe he started his on the 29th of July.

Rich — are you a bizarro version of Steve Phillips haha? What a horrible, horrible trade.
