The results of Christian Garcia’s MRI are in.
The promising 24-year-old righty will be shelved for a significant length of time after being diagnosed with a torn elbow ligament. Neither manager Tony Franklin or Garcia himself had any more specifics than that. Garcia is expected to be placed on the disabled list, and will be seeing a doctor to determine the appropriate course of action.
Garcia, who was charting pitches in the stands during the game and was in very good spirits during a visit to the press box, was informed of the bad news by Franklin in the trainer’s room after the game. Franklin then informed the media during his availability to us.
I will have more on this shortly, stay tuned…
