Pitching Matchups VS. Portland

4/22 – RHP Eammon Portice (2‐0, 2.08) vs. RHP Lance Pendleton (1‐2, 6.23)
4/23 – RHP Casey Kelly (0‐0, 0.00) vs. RHP DJ Mitchell (1‐1, 4.15)
4/24 – RHP Stephen Fife (0‐1, 4.00) vs. RHP Ryan Pope (0‐1, 4.20)
4/25 – LHP Felix Doubront (2‐0, 3.21) vs. LHP Jeremy Bleich (1‐1, 2.04)

Start drooling over Friday night, kids.  Casey Kelly vs. D.J. Mitchell has all the makings of a dazzling pitchers duel…well, through about three or four innings, anyway.  Kelly, the #2 prospect in the Red Sox organization according to Baseball America, is generally kept on a pretty strict pitch count and it’s unlikely he’ll get too deep into the game.

Mitchell’s no slouch himself, coming into the season as the #17 prospect in the Yankees organization as rated by BA.

If prospects are your thing, you can’t miss Friday night’s game.  7:05 PM start, tickets are still available, etc.

why do the great match-ups always come when I am out of town? I blame Ashmore. We all know the league comes to him for advice when they sort out the schedule…
