Why is it that most baseball players are injury prone? Is it that they are not conditioned enough compare to other athletes?

I wouldn’t say most baseball players are injury prone…I think pitchers specifically can be, though. When you think about the ridiculous amount of stress that throwing a ball 90 miles per hour must put on your arm and body as a whole, it’s not hard to imagine how these guys get hurt on occasion.

I don’t think conditioning is an issue. Yes, some players take conditioning more seriously than others…yes, some think sitting in air conditioning is good enough conditioning…but as a whole, baseball players are in just as good of shape as any other athlete.

As a whole…trust me, there are certainly exceptions.
