6:05 PM — Steve Garrison had an MRI on his left groin…he was not able to give us a timetable for his return, but stressed that he didn’t think it was too serious. Both he and Graham Stoneburner will be sent to Tampa to rehab their various ailments.
Josh Schmidt is here, active, and wearing #41. According to Tony Franklin, he is available to pitch tonight.
Brian Anderson has an “arm issue,” but no word on severity…doesn’t seem serious.
4:45 PM — Lineups are in…
4:05 PM — Schmidt, who last pitched on April 29th for Scranton has a 2-1 record with a 1.17 ERA, 7.2 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 HR, 4 BB, 11 K in five appearances so far this season. Don’t know what else this guy has to do to prove he deserves a spot in Triple-A.
4:00 PM — Josh Schmidt is back from Triple-A Scranton…Brian Anderson and Steve Garrison are both on the DL. No word on what the story is with Anderson just yet.
3:35 PM — Tarp’s on the field, but pitchers and catchers are warming up in right field, and presumably some hitters are in the indoor cages…no reason to think we won’t be playing tonight, looking at the radar.
Dellin Betances on the hill for Trenton, Stolmy Pimentel for Portland. Third start of the season for Betances.
Steve Garrison’s spot in the rotation is currently listed as “TBD,” so…hey, congratulations to Shaeffer Hall. 26 games into the season, and he’s the only member of the starting rotation who hasn’t been hurt yet; Banuelos (blister), Betances (blister), Stoneburner (neck) and now Garrison (groin) have all been or are likely headed to, in Garrison’s case, the DL.
