Game 62: In-Game Updates

Top 1: 18 pitches/11 strikes for Banuelos.  Two K’s, including a just filthy curve to end the inning with Brahiam Maldonado up.  One walk as well, though.  0-0.

Top 2: After a 1-2-3 inning from the Thunder offense, Banuelos walked one and struck out another in the second.  2 BB’s and 3 K’s total.  19 pitches/8 strikes.  37/19 total.  0-0 game.

Top 4: Banuelos gives up a solo homer to lead off the inning off the bat of Maldonado…1-0, B-Mets.

Bottom 4: Things I never expected to write?  Jose Gil hit in an inside the park home run.  Maldonado attempted to make a diving grab of a liner to left and went awkwardly into the ground and appeared to injure his arm while trapping the ball.  The ball was in his glove the whole time and Gil never stopped running and made it all the way home to tie the game.  1-1.  Maldonado is OK and remained in the game.

Top 6: Banuelos out after 5 2/3…gave up two runs and had 8 K’s.  100 pitches.

Bottom 6: Jose Pirela with a two-run double to put Trenton up 4-2.

Thunder win, 4-2.
