Maruszak Called Up To Scranton; Thunder Get Lyerly From Tampa

(PR) (Portland, ME) – The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announce that Addison Maruszak has been promoted to Triple A Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre.  In a corresponding move, the Thunder have received Rob Lyerly from Advanced A Tampa.  The transaction leaves the Trenton 24-man active roster at two below its maximum.
In 61 games for the Thunder in 2011, Maruszak has hit .218 with three homeruns and 22 runs batted in.  The Pinellas Park, Florida, native has primariy played first base but has also made his professional debuts at catcher and outfield.
Rob Lyerly has played in 64 games for the Tampa Yankees this season and has hit .315 with 25 extra base hits (four homeruns, five triples, 16 doubles) and 46 runs batted in.  The former Charlotte 49er’s 71 runs batted in led the Class A Charleston RiverDogs in 2010.
The Thunder begin a three-game series with the Portland Sea Dogs, AA Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, on Tuesday at 7:00 PM from Hadlock Field. Trenton will give the pearl to RHP Dellin Betances (3-2, 1.76), while Portland will counter with RHP Brock Huntzinger (3-5, 6.85).
