Game 91: Pre-Game Notes

6:10 PM — Mack on his hand: “It’s a little sore, pretty sore.  Whenever the doctor gets here, he’s going to check it out and see what’s going on and maybe get an X-Ray or a CT scan tomorrow and get more in-depth with it.”

“I don’t remember a specific play, it’s one of those things where it kept wearing down and finally it just hasn’t felt good at all.”

“After the game in Reading, I was a little sore.  But then I got home and I couldn’t even open a bottle or carry stuff around, it was just awful.  I tried to hit BP when I got here.  I took two swings and I couldn’t even hold a bat in my hands.”

“I’m pretty concerned, it’s one of those injuries that takes a while.  If it’s bad, it might require surgery.”

6:00 PM — Lidge will throw an inning tonight, somewhere around the seventh, and then speak to the media.

Also, I spoke to Mack about his hand injury…quotes soon.

5:30 PM — Alan Horne has been released by the Yankees organization.  Ryan Baker and DeAngelo Mack have been placed on the DL, Mack has a hand issue.  And Addison Maruszak and Josh Schmidt have been sent down from Scranton.  Austin Romine was activated from the TIA as well.

3:50 PM — Lineups…

  1. Peter Lacock Says:

    Sorry to hear about Horne.
Another talented pitcher like Brien Taylor, Christian Garcia et al, to succumb to health issues.

In these last 2 months of the season I’m curious to see if Kruml can keep it up in his breakout season and I’ll also be keeping an eye on Pirela who has been coming on of late.
