(PR) (Akron, OH) – Manny Banuelos dominated the Akron Aeros (54-51) in his six and a third innings, and Addison Maruszak drove in two more runs to lead the Trenton Thunder (56-48) to a 5-1 win on Wednesday night at Canal Park. The victory, which completes a three-game sweep over the Aeros, gives the Thunder their fourth straight win and a winning record on the seven-game road trip to Bowie and Akron. Rob Lyerly also had three hits for the Thunder, who close the gap with first place New Hampshire in the Eastern League’s Eastern Division to just one game. All of the Thunder offense on Wednesday night came in three straight frames in the middle third of the ballgame. Rob Lyerly and Corban Joseph both knocked RBI-singles in the fourth and fifth, respectively. Then, in the sixth, Jose Pirela drove in his 39th run of the season with an RBI-double. One batter later, Addison Maruszak laced a single through the middle to score two and give Trenton a 5-0 lead.
