Game 110: Pre-Game Notes

6:00 PM — Tons of interesting stuff.  I spoke to Dellin Betances and Steve Garrison, and you’ll see that stuff after the game tonight.  Outstanding stuff from both.  Betances, specifically, said that he has an innings cap of around 150 this season and that my hunch from last night was spot on.  He is throwing more fastballs.  Why?  The Yankees asked him to so he can work on fastball command.

OK…new Thunder lineup.  Why?  Austin Romine has a stiff back.

Pirela SS, Joseph 2B, Almonte RF, Lyerly 3B, Mesa CF, Gil C, Sublett LF, Maruszak 1B, Mack DH, Stoneburner P

X-Rays showed that there were no fractures in Ray Kruml’s right foot, and he is expected to miss a few days.  I did see Romine in the clubhouse, but I did not see Kruml.

Kanekoa Texeira will be joining the team today, but will not be active.  He is going to wear #57.  Wilkins Arias and Kei Igawa both recently threw sim games and are close to returning…but there will be no roster room for them as of now.  Texeira, when activated, will get the roster up to the maximum 24 players/\.

4:05 PM — Lineups…

Right, he is clearly working on FB command. Look forward to reading the exchange with Dellin.
