(PR) (Trenton, NJ) – The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announce that OF Ray Kruml has been activated from the Disabled List. In a corresponding move, LHP Wilkins Arias has been promoted to Triple-A Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre. The moves leave the Thunder 24-man active roster at its maximum capacity.
Kruml has been sidelined since August 2 when he was forced to leave a game against the Akron Aeros at Waterfront Park after fouling a ball off of his foot in the seventh inning. The Lisle, IL-native leads the team with a .290 batting average, 122 hits and 34 stolen bases, and also ranks second in hits and fourth in doubles in the Eastern League.
Arias, who had just returned from the Disabled List on August 10, will make his first appearance at the Triple-A level after spending parts of the last four seasons with the Trenton Thunder. In relief outings with the Thunder this season, the Dominican lefty is 3-0 with a 2.30 ERA.
With the three-game set with the Binghamton Mets in the rearview mirror, the Thunder will begin a three-game series with the Harrisburg Senators at Metro Bank Park on Friday at 7:00 PM in Harrisburg. The Thunder will give the start to RHP Dellin Betances (4-6, 3.57), while the Senators will counter with LHP Danny Rosenbaum (1-0, 1.59). Tune-in to the game on 91.3 WTSR and online at trentonthunder.com. The SBLI Pre-Game show with Hank Fuerst begins at 6:45 PM.
