Duff Re-Signed, Pendleton Released By Astros

The latest installment of Baseball America’s transactions update had a few interesting nuggets…

— The Yankees have re-signed Grant Duff after releasing him earlier this spring.  Duff, along with Tim Norton, have been placed on the 60-Day DL.

In addition, the following players were placed on the 7-Day DL: RHP Zach Arneson, RHP Sean Black, RHP Daniel Burawa, RHP Reinier Casanova, RHP Matt Daley, RHP Jairo Heredia, RHP Tommy Kahnle, RHP Ronny Marte, RHP Adam Miller, RHP Diego Moreno, LHP Jeremy Bleich, LHP Matt Tracy, C Jeff Farnham, C Kyle Higashioka, 1B Russ Branyan, 1B Luke Murton, 2B Corban Joseph, 2B Jayson Nix, SS Carmen Angelini, OF Shane Brown, OF Slade Heathcott, OF Damon Sublett.

As I previously reported, Burawa, Heredia, Moreno, Bleich, Murton and Sublett all started the year on the Thunder DL.  Farnham is on the phantom DL in Trenton as well.  None of those assignments really mean a whole lot.

— The Astros released former Yankees and Thunder pitcher Lance Pendleton.

— The Dodgers released former Thunder pitcher and Major League outfielder Brian Anderson.
