(PR) (Trenton, NJ) – The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced Thursday that INF Kevin Mahoney, C Jose Gil and RHP Graham Stoneburner have all been activated from the team’s disabled list. To make room on the active roster, RHP David Phelps has been transferred to AAA Scranton and OF Shane Brown and C Jeff Farnham have been placed on the disabled list.
Mahoney missed the last 33 games with groin soreness. The All-Star 3rd-baseman played in Wednesday’s Eastern League All-Star Game and went 1-for-3 with a ninth-inning single that helped set up the winning run. He will bat 6th and play DH Thursday night in New Britain.
Gil had missed the past seven games with a clavicular contusion. Stoneburner was out since May 12th with groin tightness (missed 57 games). He is expected to join the Thunder bullpen in New Britain Thursday night
