(PR) (Trenton, NJ) – The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced Friday that All-Star right-hander Kelvin Perez has been promoted to Triple-A Scranton. In a corresponding move lefty Shaeffer Hall has been activated from the team’s disabled list and is expected to start Friday night in the game at Altoona.
Perez went 6-1 with four saves and a 1.14 ERA in a league-leading 41 appearances with the Thunder. His opposing batting average of .192 was fourth-best in the EL as of Friday. He becomes the fifth Thunder pitcher promoted to Triple-A this season, joining Chase Whitley, Preston Claiborne, Danny Farquhar and Lee Hyde.
