Game 34: Pre-Game Notes

4:45 PM — Pretty shocking news.  As part of an organizational roster shuffle, Shaeffer Hall has been released by the Yankees organization.  Previously reported moves include Caleb Cotham going to Scranton and Mikey O’Brien coming to Trenton.  In addition, pitchers Fred Lewis and Matt Daley are joining Trenton and Josh Romanski was DL’d.

Hall…I don’t even know what to say.  Trenton’s Opening Day starter 2012, Hall made 64 career appearances for the Thunder (52 starts) and compiled a 22-18 record.  He worked out of the bullpen this season and went 3-0 in ten games with a 3.32 ERA.  Hall’s 22 career wins place him fifth in team history, while his 52 games started is sixth most all time.  His 334 innings pitched is fourth-most in team history.

Of the new names, Daley is the most intriguing.  He pitched three seasons with the Colorado Rockies, and missed all of last season after undergoing shoulder surgery.  He made four scoreless appearances for High-A Tampa this season.

3:45 PM — Lineups…

Thunder lineup: Flores DH, Pirela 2B, Austin RF, Murphy C, Roller 1B, Heathcott CF, Medchill LF, Castillo SS, Stevenson 3B, Nuding P

NH lineup: Pillar CF, Nanita DH, Glenn RF, Schimpf 3B, Nolan SS, Loewen 1B, Van Kirk LF, Ochinko C, Tolisano 2B, McGuire P
