Hall and Sanit Replace Stephens And Fortenberry On Thunder Roster

If you’re looking for the short version: OF Noah Hall signed by Yankees, assigned to Trenton.  RP Amaury Sanit activated from DL.  CF Seth Fortenberry assigned to Staten Island.  SP/RP Jason Stephens assigned to Staten Island.

The long version?  Sure, I can do that too…

As reported first here yesterday, the Yankees picked up outfielder Noah Hall from the Somerset Patriots of the independent Atlantic League yesterday.  The move was made official today, and he was assigned to Trenton.

He takes the place of Seth Fortenberry, who struggled mightily in his first jump into Double-A ball.  Fortenberry was hitting .150 with seven RBI in 35 games for the Thunder.  He was tied for second in the Eastern League in triples with three.  I’d have to imagine he’ll eventually be assigned to Tampa.

Amaury Sanit has been activated from the disabled list, having recovered from a left knee/groin injury.  The Cuban defector appeared in five games for the Thunder. He was 0-1 with a 1.69 ERA and two saves.

Jason Stephens, whom I expected to be the odd man out a few times now, finally was.  This will technically be his fourth team of the season, although he’ll never set foot in Staten Island and may return to Tampa as well, depending on what Scranton’s needs with their rotation are and what Alan Horne’s status is.  Stephens was 0-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two games (one start) for the Thunder.
