Following last night’s game, the Yankees have released Eladio Rodriguez.
Rodriguez and I were talking before last night’s game, and he had mentioned how another American League team had expressed interest in him, but I didn’t think anything of it. I just assumed he was talking about the 2009 season.
Guess not.
This is probably the best thing that could have happened to the former IBL star. He wasn’t getting anywhere near regular playing time in the Yankees organization, and it was very clear that the organization essentially viewed him as little more than filler.

Sounds like the Bo Hall situation. The Yankees realized they had no playing time for the guy and did him a favor by losing him.
